Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A day after an FIR was registered against him for circulating an alleged "edited" video, Congress veteran Digvijaya Singh on Tuesday said even he would file an FIR against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for tweeting an alleged "fake" video against Rahul Gandhi.
Earlier yesterday, the Madhya Pradesh Police registered an FIR against Congress veteran Digvijaya Singh and 11 others in a case of circulation of an alleged "edited" video of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's old statement on the liquor policy of the previous Kamal Nath government.
Today however, Singh quoted a report about Chouhan tweeting a fake video against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi back in 2019.
"I will file an FIR against Shivraj for sharing a fake video at the same police station where BJP leaders filed an FIR against me," Singh said in a tweet in Hindi.
Digvijaya booked for tweeting 'edited' video
Earlier on Sunday night, leaders of the ruling BJP submitted a complaint to the crime branch of Bhopal Police, demanding that an FIR be lodged against Singh for tweeting the alleged "edited" video.

In the video, Chouhan is purportedly seen commenting on the liquor policy of the previous Kamal Nath government.
The original 2.19-minute video was edited and a nine second cropped part of it was shared on Twitter by Singh to malign the image of the chief minister, BJP leaders alleged.
Digvijaya and others were charged under Indian Penal Code Sections 500 (defamation), 501 (printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory), 505 (2) (public mischief) and 465 (forgery), an official said.
Shivraj's 'fake' video
According to reports, current Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had last year tweeted an edited video that allegedly showed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi referring to Bhupesh Baghel as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

However, reports suggested that the video shared by Chouhan was also edited as Congress tweeted a video in response which showed Rahul referring to Kamal Nath as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Bhupesh Baghel as that of Chhattisgarh.
