10 people held for indulging in trafficking of wildlife

Ten people have been arrested for indulging in smuggling of wildlife. Police have also recovered rare species of animals from them.

Ujjain: STF has arrested 10 people, including four women, for indulging in smuggling of wildlife, official sources said.

STF chief Jitesh Garg told media here that the team has also recovered rare species of owl and snake from them, which he said are illegally used for making drugs and even for eating.

He said the arrested used to sell rare species of animals and birds to other smugglers and the cost of the recovered snake and the owl could be in crore of rupees.

The police official said that further probe is on.
