Kerala woman dies by suicide following cyber bullying by ex-boyfriend, probe on.

The woman filed a complaint against the youth after being subjected to cyber bullying. But, later committed suicide, police said.

Kottayam (Kerala): A 26-year-old woman died by suicide allegedly following cyber bullying by her ex-boyfriend. Police have lodged a complaint against the accused youth, who went absconding following the incident.

The woman's body was found at her house in Kadathurthi in Kottayam district's Konnallur block on Sunday morning. The youth, identified as Arun Vidyadharan, has been charged of abetment to suicide. Police said an investigation has been started and effort is on to track the accused.

According to police, Arun allegedly harassed the woman on Facebook by sharing her pictures and their chats. The woman had broken up with Arun long time back but the latter was not letting her go, police said. The woman's family members said that Arun started harassing her after he came to know that her marriage has been fixed.

The woman filed a complaint at the Kadathurthi police station accusing the youth of cyber bullying and online harassment. "Vaikom ASP is directly investigating into the case. Police had also called up the woman and spoken to her," police added. Investigators said the matter is being probed and the culprit will be nabbed very soon.

Cyber bullying is a serious crime and includes sharing pictures without permission, spreading false information and threatening online.
