Two wild mongooses found hung to death from a tree in Kerala's Kasaragod on Sunday. After a complaint filed by the locals, police and forest officials reached the spot. The dead carcasses have been sent for post mortem.

Badiyadka (Kasaragod): After the reports of a dead cat hanging from a tree surfaced in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram, a similar incident was reported in Kasaragod wherein the carcasses of two wild mongooses were found hanging from a tree.

One of the carcasses found was two days old while the other dated back to four days. Both the carcasses were found hanging from a tree in Marpinadukka.

The locals alleged that the area is usually deserted during the night.

Police and forest officials inspected the area. The carcasses were later, buried.

However, the forest officials pulled out the dead animals and sent for post mortem. Officials informed that the reports would be released in another two days.

Cruelty to animals: Mongooses killed, hanged on tree in Kasaragod



Badiyadka (Kasaragod): The human cruelty to animals is being continuously reported from various places of the state. Soon after a pregnant cat was killed and hanged at a club in Thiruvananthapuram, a similar incident was reported from Kumbadaje in Kasaragod also.



Two mongooses were found to have been killed and hanged on a tree near a private person’s copra shed close to Marpinadukka at Kumbadaje on Saturday evening.



The local residents complain that the place is a camp of anti-socials during the night hours. Carcass of one of the mongooses is four days old while the other one is two days old. The locals said that they have lodged a complaint in this regard with the forest department officials.



Police and forest officials went to the site and inspected it. Later, the carcasses were buried. Later Forest officials pulled out the the carcasses of the buried mongooses for post mortem. The Forest officials informed that the post mortem reports will be out in two days.
