Kerala: This artist showcases life during lockdown period

This artist from Kerala has been creating paintings depicting life lived during the COVID-19 lockdown period, showcasing humans and their intrinsic emotions in vibrant colours.

Malappuram: People turn to various art creations to inform and inspire, especially during the time of health crises.

Similarly, this artist from Kerala has been creating paintings depicting life lived during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

Savior Chitrakoodam's elegant paintings capture the simple minimalistic lives of people which one can see around them right now.

His brushstrokes showcase humans and their intrinsic emotions in vibrant colours.

When he was a child, Savior left his family as they did not support his passion for fine arts.

Chitrakoodam has been working as an artist in Tirur for the past 22 years now.

Due to the lockdown, Savior failed to get canvases for his paintings so he started his artwork on paper. He mostly gets his ideas and inspiration from daily news and events.

"It is with the help of all our frontline workers, including nurses, doctors, police, other health workers, that we are safe today. My work would be a tribute to all the COVID-19 frontline workers," told Savior to ETV Bharat.

This 78-year-old man is also heading Young Artists Group, a group formed for those children who want to learn art.
