Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): CPM National General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said that the Left Front will mark a historic victory in Kerala. He said the Left government was able to keep its promises and I'm sure people will see this positively.
Yechury said the government handled the situations from natural calamities and epidemics well. The Government of Kerala and the Legislature have taken exemplary decisions on issues including CAA and Agricultural Law.

Criticising the Central government, he said the Modi government is taking steps to sell the country itself. As part of this, public sector enterprises are being privatized. But the Kerala government is strengthening the public sector. This is an alternative government, said Sitaram Yechury.
The BJP says it will form a government if it gets 35 seats because it is sure that the party can buy Congress MLAs. This is the democracy of the Congress and the BJP, said Yechury.
AK Antony should not look at the CPM and should look at the Congress, Yechury said in response to Antony's criticism. He added that Congress was the party that functioned for two years without a national president and that Antony should take note of this. Congress-BJP pact exists in Kerala and the fact that the BJP has no candidate in a seat like Guruvayur proves this understanding. People should understand these things and vote, he stressed.

No central agency can operate without the permission of the state. This is against the federal principle, he added.
Rajnath Singh should read the constitution before criticizing the state government. The Congress and the BJP are raising the issue of Sabarimala because there are no issues related to people in Kerala to criticize the Left. There is no problem in Sabarimala, he added. When the final verdict of the Supreme Court comes, it will be discussed and implemented, he said.
The Sabarimala issue is a matter for the court to consider. The first verdict came after the court examined the affidavit of the state government. Therefore, there is no need to discuss the cause of the affidavit now. Sitaram Yechury said the matter should be decided by the court.
He also said it is the policy of the CPM that those who have completed two terms should stand aside. CPM state secretariat would look into the statement of Kadakampally Surendran and that the Chief Minister had made it clear, he added.
