Spurned lover beheads classmate at Kottayam in Kerala

In a barbaric incident, a college student beheaded his classmate when she refused his love at St Thomas College campus in Kottayam on Friday. The victim was identified as Nithinamol (22), a third-year BVOC student and resident of Thalayolaparambu in Vaikom.

Kottayam (Kerala): In a barbaric incident, a college student beheaded his classmate when she refused his love at St Thomas College campus in Kottayam on Friday. The victim was identified as Nithinamol (22), a third-year Bachelor of Vocational (Education) student and resident of Thalayolaparambu in Vaikom.

The accused, Abhishek Baiju, a resident of Uppani in Koothattukulam, was taken into custody by the police. The girl was brutally murdered by Abhishek Baiju, while coming out of the exam hall. Kerala witnessed a series of crimes since 24-year-old BDS student Manasa's murder on forbidden love.

Crime against girls and women is on the rise across the country. Many incidents of spurned lovers killing innocent girls are being reported, but despite awarding stringent punishment against the accused, it seems youth are not learning lessons from it.
