Kozhikode: An arrest warrant has been issued after cancelling the bail of Saritha S Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan in the solar case. The verdict in the case will be pronounced on February 25. Saritha and Biju received an amount of Rs 42,70,000 from Abdul Majeed, a native of Kozhikode for installing a solar panel.
Saritha Nair has earned notoriety in Kerala over the solar scam where it was alleged that Nair with her political connections cheated people of installing solar panels. The total amount involved in the scam is reported to be around Rs 10 crores and had generated large scale protests in the state of Kerala. Former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy is also accused of accepting a bribe of Rs. 1.9 crore in this matter.
