Alappuzha: The drone surveillance visuals captured by the Kerala police, as part of spotting those who violate COVID-19 lockdown regulations in the state, have gone viral on social media.
The heli-cam visuals recorded by Vallikkunnam police have become a huge hit on social media platforms. On seeing the police drone camera approaching them, people who were gathering up along country pathways and paddy field ridges scattered and ran quickly, as per the visuals.
One can also spot people covering their faces with their dhothies (a traditional cloth, worn by men) while running so as to avoid their faces being captured by the police drone camera. The drone then flew down amid a group of people who were playing cricket in a field.
Although it is funny to see those who dispersed hiding behind coconut trees and running in panic, it is a matter of concern that people do not yet realise the gravity of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Kerala police have released the drone visual clips after merging it with a song.
Stringent action will be initiated against all who violate the lockdown rules and government orders, stated Vallikkunnam police personnel.
