Idukki: Ananthu, hailing from Nedumkandam, sparked out his luck in the lottery with Rs .12 crore draw of this year's Kerala Lottery's Onam Bumper. He is currently in Ernakulam working in Elamkulam temple and due to financial constraints, he had dropped off his MBA dreams earlier. His Poovatholil House in Valiyathovala is in a dilapidated condition with water leaking from roof tiles and a narrow lane of sand connecting the house.

His father, Vijayan, a painting labourer and his mother Suma a staff with a private textile shop, had tried hard to make both ends meet and educate their children with meagre earnings. His brother Aravind works with a private firm in Kattappana. Athira, his eldest sister was at home, cultivating vegetables in her kitchen garden as she lost her job owing to COVID-19.
