Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, addressing the media after the local body election results were announced here on Wednesday, said that the election result in the State is the people’s victory.
It is a befitting reply by the people who love this land to those who were hell bent on false campaigns to degrade Kerala’s achievements and who tried to spread lies and malign LDF in the State. Kerala has once again proved that it has a secular mindset. The populist foundation of the LDF has only expanded and become stronger.
UDF has lost ground in the State and the BJP’s claims have all crumbled when the election results were out, Pinarayi Vijayan said.
There were unparalleled false campaigns against the Government, just before the elections in the State. Even some of the media had joined hands in spreading lies and in false campaigns. However, people have not paid attention to any such attempts.
Many are weaving stories according to their own whims and fancies. The media must review the false campaigns which they had presented before the people, Kerala CM urged.
This victory is the people’s recognition and support for the welfare measures, and the developments, put forth by the Government. It shows that the people of Kerala yearn for continuity in the present Government’s measures, despite all orchestrated attempts to degrade the LDF, Pinarayi said.
