Wayanad (Kerala): Abdu, a resident of Pulpally in Wayanad, has turned a savior for stray dogs and cats in his locality during the current COVID lockdown. As wayside eateries remain closed due to the lockdown imposed in the state to curb the contagion, stray animals have been left with no source of food.
The stray dogs and cats in the area have been depending on Abdu, who has been running a roadside eatery in Pulpally for the past many years and the leftovers from his eatery used to be their main food source.

Following the severe spread of COVID, Pulpally has been a containment zone for two weeks. Since then, Abdu used to bring food from his house and feed these starving animals.
Besides, as a complete lockdown has been declared across the state, it has turned difficult for Abdu to reach his shop in the town and feed these animals. However, Abdu says, he can't forget these animals, which have been part of his life for years together, and let them starve to death.

Originally hailing from Kozhikode, Abdu used to entrust the local residents to feed the dogs and cats whenever he went to Kozhikode for a few days.
Still, Abdu somehow reaches Pulpally carrying food from his home to feed the starving animals. The animals eagerly await for Abdu to bring them food as they surely won’t get any food from elsewhere during the lockdown period.
