Thrissur: A man in Varandarapilly panchayath here in Kerala is providing all essentials needed for running of community kitchen in the state.
Thomas, a resident of Pallikkunnu is supporting the government by looking after the requirements of the Varandarapilly panchayath community Kitchen.
Thomas assured to the panchayat authorities that he is ready to contribute even after the number of beneficiaries keeps on rising.
He provides groceries, vegetables, firewood, LPG cylinders and even takes care of packaging of foods.
Around 700 people are fed from this community kitchen twice in a day.
Thomas has offered to provide the essentials required for the community kitchen until lockdown gets over.
The community kitchen started preparing foods from last 6 days.
However, on the first the food was prepared for less than 100 people. Later on, by Friday, the number has increased to around 700 people.
100 volunteers are there to provide door step delivery in these 22 wards of the panchayat.
Few days back, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has started community kitchen in all panchayats across the state so that no individual stays hungry amid coronavirus outbreak.
