Ernakulam (Kerala): PK Chandran, a native of Palachottil in Chakkamkulangara won a lottery prize of Rs 6 crore. The credit for his win goes to an honest lottery seller Smija K Mohan, who promptly handed over the winning ticket to Chandran along with her husband.

Actually, Smija had 12 unsold lottery tickets with her on Sunday, and none of the regular ticket buyers expressed their willingness to purchase them. It was then that Smija through WhatsApp contacted Chandran informing him about the unsold lottery tickets.

Chandran then told her to send him the pics of those lottery numbers to select the number of his choice (SD 316142). He later dialled Smija saying that he would make the payment of Rs 200 the very next day.

When the winning numbers were announced on Sunday evening itself, Smija got to know that Chandran had won the bumper lottery worth Rs 6 crore and rushed along with her husband Rajeshwaran to hand over the winning ticket to its rightful owner.
An overjoyed Chandran immediately paid Smija her due and received the winning ticket to claim the bumper prize of Rs 6 crore.

A Valambur native Smija and her husband Rajeshwaran who were temporary employees of the Kakkanad Government Press, in 2011 had set-up a lottery stall at the Rajagiri Hospital in Aluva.
However, both of them lost their jobs at the press and had to even lay off the staff working in their lottery stall and had to run the business all by themselves.
