Kollam: A woman named Rakhi jumped into Ashtamudi lake near Kundara, Vellimanni in Kollam along with her toddler son on Monday.
Rakhi, a native of Perinad, jumped into the lake with her three-year-old son Adi.
A search and rescue team recovered Rakhi's body. The search for the baby is still underway.
Kollam police have launched an investigation into the incident.
