Wedding photoshoot after 58 yrs of marriage goes viral

Kunjutti and his wife Chinnamma, who got married way back in 1962, on January 1, could not take a wedding photo then. It was their long time desire for a wedding photo, which their grandson helped them shoot in their 58th year of marriage.

Idukki: At a time when ‘save the date, engagement and wedding’ photoshoots have become the trend, this special ‘wedding photoshoot’, of a couple in their eighties, has taken the internet by storm.

Thought the wedding was during COVID times? No. The couple has been married for the past 58 years.

Kunjutti and his wife Chinnamma, who got married way back in 1962, on January 1, could not take a wedding photo then. It was their long time desire for a wedding photo to cherish that has finally been realised by their grandson, during the COVID times, while they are in their 58th year of marriage.

The couple brushed up their wish to take a wedding photographer when they saw the many ‘save the date’ photoshoots recently. They shared their wish with their grandson Jibin who has been associated with a wedding event company independently.

The couple says, their grand son’s skill and passion for photography has also helped them realise their wedding photoshoot. All arrangements needed for the grannies’ wedding photoshoot were done by Jibin.

The couple was all set and dressed up in their wedding dresses. Kunjutti wore a suit and goggles to look fashionable while Chinnamma draped herself in her cream coloured wedding saree. They finally posed in front of the camera for a wedding photo, which they could cherish, 58 years after their marriage. The couple’s ‘wedding’ photos were posted on social media platforms went viral and many responded positively.

Both Kunjutti aged 85 and Chinnamma aged 80 are from Idukki in Kerala. The couple has 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Asked their reaction on their wedding photo going viral and being seen by many people, the couple just said - ‘happy’ - bringing all their emotions in that one word.
