Farmer donates to Kerala's Covid vaccine fund

A farmer and his wife in Kerala's Kasaragod district have donated Rs 50,000 to the state's Covid vaccine fund to mark their 50th wedding anniversary.

Kasaragod: Celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in a different way, a farmer and his wife from Kasaragod in Kerala have contributed Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister's 'vaccine challenge.'

Thekkepallath Kuttyan of Ravaneeshwaram and his wife Chirutha handed over the money to Uduma Member of Legislative Assembly CH Kunjambu.

As the deadly second wave of Covid-19 has wreaked havoc in the state, Kuttyan made the contribution out of compassion. He said that he would be gratified even if four persons can be saved through his contribution.

Kuttyan has been involved in farming throughout his life. There is hardly anything he has not put his hands on in agriculture. Presently, his main source of income comes from betel leaf cultivation.

Besides farming, Kuttyan is also at the forefront sharing his knowledge and experience in agriculture with youngsters.
