4 Maoists gunned down during police operations in Kerala

The Thunderbolt squad of anti-Naxal police team killed four suspected Maoists. The combat operation took place Manjakatti hills of Kerala's Palakkad district. Three maoists is said to have died on the spot while one succumed his injuries on Tuesday.

Palakkad (Kerala): The Thunderbolt squad of anti-Naxal police team during a combat operation in Manjakatti hills of Palakkad district killed four suspected Maoists, including a woman, were killed. Three maoists is said to have died on the spot while one succumed his injuries on Tuesday.

As per officials, they received information that seven ultras were camping inside the hills. Following this, Thunderbolts continued the operation for the missing four Maoists who escaped from the spot.

The two sides exchanged fire after the Thunderbolts got information that Naxals camping in tribal areas were demanding food materials from the tribes.

With the current operation resulting in the death of four Maoists, the total toll, since the government came to power in 2016, has gone upto seven.
