Palakkad: Are you getting bored of sitting at home, following same routine, due to the stringent lockdown measures in place? No worry. Kerala Police is ready to sing for you.
Kerala Janamaithri Police reached out to the people of Nelliyampathy, a hillside village in Palakkad district, with a musical orchestra programme to entertain them.
As part of the COVID-19 vigil and restrictions, the plantation workers have been staying inside their labour quarters, quite bored and tensed. It is to relieve their mental stress that the Janamaithri police have come up with an orchestra.

The police orchestra team went to the places where most labourers are camping. A small microphone was used the amplify the sound, and the background music will be played on mobile phones and the policemen will sing.
Even though none of the orchestra team is trained in classical music, the police team made the whole musical programme colourful. They sang devotional songs, mappilappattu, folk music, and popular film songs. The programme was led by Padagiri Sub Inspector M Hamsa.
The cops reminded the labourers that the entertainment is meant only for those who comply with the lockdown regulations. There will be no concession on chasing and picking those who violate the lockdown rules, the police cautioned.
