Kerala: Advocate Manu Roy has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition in the Kerala High Court, seeking measures to regulate the rise in onion, garlic and shallots prices.
Roy recently lost in the bypoll which he contested as an LDF candidate from the Ernakulam constituency. Stating the price of the three items mentioned in the PIL, he said that they have gone up by huge percentages.
Roy also asserted that the price rise has spread panic among people and has greatly affected their daily budgets.
He has accused the government of being ignorant and non-functional in this matter.
