Ernakulam: The Kerala High Court has issued contempt notice on Central government's failure on appointing Chairman for the Kerala Administrative Tribunal. The court ordered the appoint KAT chairman within two weeks (by August 24) and cautioned that the secretary of the Union Ministry of Personnel would be summoned if the appointment get delayed further.
High Court gave three weeks time for designated chairman to the position earlier, but the Central government failed to conduct appointment within the stipulated time. A Division Bench of Justice A Muhamed Mustaque and Justice Kauser Edappagath has issued notice to Central Government while considering the petition filed by the KAT Bar Association.
The appointment of judicial members of the Kerala Administrative Tribunal has been suspended by the single bench for the time being as the chairman has not been appointed.
