Initiative to reuse expensive wedding outfits brings smile to many faces

Green Star Club members in Kerala has taken up the initiative to make the wedding dreams of every one come true. After collecting used wedding dresses from the rich people, the members provide it for free to the needy.

After that day, the place for these expensive dresses remains to be some hidden corner of their wardrobes. However, there are many people who cannot afford to buy expensive wedding dresses and suits.

The wedding dresses that are shoved off to the lower rack of the wardrobe may be of use to fulfil the big dreams of the lesser privileged, thought Kasaragod Athinjal Green Star Club members.

The Green Star Club members collect the wedding dresses of brides and grooms from well-off families, give them to the brides and grooms from lesser privileged backgrounds. The idea shared by Shihab, a textile shop employee, was taken up by the Green Star Club members. The Club has even set up a showroom to make it convenient for those in need to select their wedding dresses from the collection here. The brides and grooms from economically backward families can choose their dresses and get them for free here. The wedding dress collection here has a wide variety and is of different prices.

Besides people from different parts of Kerala, many brides and grooms from the border states of Karnataka also reach the Green Star Club showroom to get their wedding dresses.

The name or details of those who come to pick their dresses here remain strictly confidential. The club members ensure that the wedding dresses reach the deserving hands, without any discrimination on caste or religion.
