Kochi (Kerala): Keralites have come up with a fizzy new 'cool' drink that would surely give the regular cold drinks a run for its money. A soda-based drink called 'Fuljar soda' is a flamboyant beverage that has caught the imagination of the young and old.
An ingredient-rich drink, a standard Fuljar soda is made of a mix of mint leaves, ginger and green chillies pastes, sugar syrup, lemon, poppy seeds and a pinch of salt. But, several other variants of the beverage with fruit-based flavours are also coming up and are being sold at juice bars, stalls and restaurants across Kerala.
While Fuljar soda was invented as a Ramzan special drink a month ago, the people of Kerala refuse to let go of this fancy little drink.
Although the name suggests that it must be a jar full of the lip-smacking drink, it actually comes in a shot glass filled with the refreshing mix and dropped into a soda-filled big glass where it froths up.

The biggest challenge is to gulp down the frothy drink without spilling it over your face and clothes.
Fuljar soda has also taken social media by storm, with YouTubers uploading videos on how to prepare the fizzy drink and guzzle it down to one's heart's content.
