While Fuljar soda was invented as a Ramzan special drink a month ago, the people of Kerala refuse to let go of this fancy little drink.

Although the name suggests that it must be a jar full of the lip-smacking drink, it actually comes in a shot glass filled with the refreshing mix and dropped into a soda-filled big glass where it froths up.

Fuljar Soda: Kerala's own 'cocktail'

Hyderabad: For a state famous for its Toddy shops, love for Beef and tender coconut water, a new cult has taken over the Kerala minds in recent times.

Fuljar Soda- the fizzy drink, which has become an online sensation, came into being during the holy month of Ramadan as a special drink but soon became a trend for its unique preparation method.

The making of this ingredient-rich drink is a sight to behold as a shot glass is dropped into a glass of soda, which fizzes out, compelling the person to gulp it down before it foams up.

The Shot glass contains a mixture of mint leaves, ginger, green chillies with sugar syrup and a pinch of salt. The variants depend on the fruit-flavours used in making the drink.

Several flavours including Watermelon and Orange are available for a person wanting to try different 'shots' each time.

The Keralites have always been fascinated with 'drinks' and its no surprise that even a healthy mix of ingredients in a 'shot glass' attracts the most quintessential 'Malayalee.'
