Massive rains trigger landslides, flood-like situation in Karnataka's Kodagu district
Mysuru: Heavy rains continued to create massive floods and landslides in Kodagu, affecting normal life and road connectivity on Friday too. There have been landslides at more than 30 places in the past three days according to Kodagu DC Annies Kanmani Joy.
Due to continuous rains and landslides, the NDRF team could not take up operations to trace five missing people who are suspected to be stuck under the debris of their house, which collapsed due to landslides on Thursday at Brahamagiri Hills in Talacauvery.

Narayanpur Dam's outflow increases water level in Krishna river
The water level has risen in the Krishna river and other rivers in Raichur district after increased outflow from Narayanpur Dam on Saturday morning, leading to flood-like situation in the adjoining areas.
The Reservoir Authority informed that the water inflow to Narayanpur Dam was around 2.20 lakh cusec at around 10 am today.
"Accordingly, outflow to the river to be increased gradually from 1.80 lakh cusec to 2.20 lakh cusec," it added.
Government authorities along with in-charge minister have reached the spot to help people.

591 people evacuated from flood-affected areas in Kodagu
The respite in the monsoon rains lay behind the improvement in the flood-like situation in Kodagu district. However, 52 areas are still flooded in the district.
A total of 141 landslides have been reported and 591 people have been evacuated to 9 relief centres.
Roads have been blocked due to the landslide, the district administration said. People living near the river bank are facing the fear of the flood.
The Arameri Kalachanchery Math and Linga Veerarajendra Prasad Bhavan in Virajpete taluk are surrounded by water.

Death toll in Idukki landslide rises to 26
Idukki: The death toll in Kerala's Idukki landslide incident has surged to 20, said Devikulam sub-collector on Friday.
"Death toll rises to 20 in the Idukki Rajamala landslide. Search underway for the missing people. NDRF team leads the search operations, " said Devikulam sub-collector.
On Friday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakhs to kin of the deceased.
Addressing a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram, the Chief Minister had said that the state government has sought the help of the Air Force but adverse weather condition is not conducive for airlifting people.
"Ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakhs each would be given to the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to a landslide in Rajamalai, Idukki. The state government will bear the expense of treatment of those injured due to the landslide," Vijayan had said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed his condolences over deaths due to landslide in Idukki and announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs each from Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the kin of deceased.
"Ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to a landslide in Rajamalai, Idukki. Rs 50,000 each would be given to those injured due to the landslide," the Prime Minister's Office tweeted.
Heavy rains in several parts of Kerala have triggered floods and landslides which have wreaked havoc in the region over the past few days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued red and orange alert for heavy rainfall for various districts in Kerala.
It issued a red alert in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki and Wayanad districts for Friday.
