Fire department personnel rescue man stuck on coconut tree

Fire force personnel rescued a man from Kerala who was trapped atop a coconut tree. The man had climbed the tree in order to cut the unwanted branches.

Kottayam (Kerala): A person from Kerala's Mutholy's village was caught between a rock and hard place, as his efforts to cut down the branches of a coconut tree halted midway.

The fire department was called out to rescue him. The incident occurred at 11.30 am on Thursday at Kottaramattam near Pala.

The man was trapped for almost an hour, knowing that he has been stuck, local residents called the fire department.

"When he started the cutting process he felt dizzy and tired. He then tied himself to the tree by using a rope and got stuck," said one of his relatives

The fire department personnel, with the help of the net, managed to bring him down safely.
