Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): In yet another revelation with regard to the gold smuggling case, a conduct certificate issued by the UAE consulate to the main accused Swapna Suresh has now surfaced.
The certificate, which is dated from September last year, states that Suresh discharged duties at the consulate from 2016 to 2019.
"Ms Swapna Prabha Suresh joined the UAE consulate as Secretary to the Consul General of UAE, Kerala in October 2016. Within a few months, considering her outstanding performance she was offered a direct contract by MOFA Office Secretary. She had creditable discharged the duties till 31st August 2019," read the certificate.
"During the period she was also recognized as the best employee of the 50 member office," the certificate added.
The consulate had later unofficially said that Suresh was expelled from the job. However, Suresh has reportedly used the certificate from the consulate to obtain the job in the Kerala IT department.

On Sunday, 30 kg gold concealed in diplomatic baggage was seized at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport here by the Customs Department.
Swapna Suresh, who was employed in Space Park and Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Limited (KSITL), is on the run after the seizure of gold at the airport while Sarith Kumar, who had earlier worked as a PRO in UAE Consulate-General's office, has been arrested.
KSITL comes under the IT department, a portfolio held by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. She was ousted after being named as an accused in the gold smuggling case.M Sivasankar, who was Chief Minister's Principal Secretary and served as IT secretary, has been removed from both the posts.
