Coimbatore: Nepal PG student commits suicide in college hostel

Sandesh Nipani, a resident of Nepal, allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU). He was pursuing post-graduate in agriculture.

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu): A 23-year-old student here allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room on Wednesday. He was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

Sandesh Nipani, a resident of Nepal, was pursuing post-graduate in agriculture at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU).

The incident came to light when fellow students peeped through the window of Sandesh's room to check his whereabouts.

Acting on a complaint by the hostel's warden, RS Puram, police filed an FIR and the investigation is underway.

"As per the preliminary investigation, it's a matter of suicide. A case has been registered in this regard under the relevant section of CrPC and further probe was on," said a police official, adding that the reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained.
