Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday met with the Indian Ambassador to Finland and discussed how the southern state can work with the Nordic country in the fields of education, tourism and startups. In the meeting held with the Chief Minister, Ambassador Ravish Kumar said Kerala should participate in the tourism fair in Finland and also invite representatives of travel agencies from there to understand the tourism potential of Kerala, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

Vijayan agreed to take steps in that regard, it said. Besides that, the diplomat said he would attempt to create employment opportunities in the state with the help of the around 20 Finnish companies operating in India and suggested that companies, especially startups, from Kerala should go to Finland and explore possibilities of working with enterprises there, according to the statement.

He also expressed his readiness to create opportunities for startups in both regions by establishing a Kerala-Finland Innovation Corridor, it said. A team from Finland is visiting Kerala in continuation of the discussions held there on matters related to public education and the Ambassador came here as a part of this initiative, it said.
