Kerala: Fun act turns fatal for Assam migrant worker, co-worker held

An Assam migrant worker at Kerala's Perambavoor sought fun by blowing air with a compressor pump through the private parts of his co-worker whose stomach became swollen leading to his unnatural death. The accused admitted to his homicidal fun act during the police interrogation and was arrested.

Kochi (Kerala) : The Police arrested an Assam youth, a migrant worker, in connection with the mysterious and unnatural death of his co-worker at Perumbavoor, Ernakulam, Kerala. The deceased was identified as Mintu, also a native of Assam, who was a worker at Ryan Plywood Factory, in Perumbavoor. He was allegedly killed by his friend and colleague Siddhartha Chumma.

Mintu suffered serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital on Monday morning with critical injuries. He had a swollen stomach and an injured face. He was declared dead on examination. His friend, who later became the accused, initially told the doctors that he brought the injured to the hospital because he fainted all of a sudden. However, the hospital authorities suspected foul play after this piece of information and they passed on the information to the police.

Later, the police started an investigation and it was learned that the death occurred due to the blowing of air using a compressor pump through the private parts of the deceased. The accused friend Siddhartha Chumma was taken into custody and questioned. With this, he admitted to the crime during the police interrogation.

The accused revealed that he had done it for fun and did not think that it would lead to the death of the victim. The police are investigating whether the arrested person had any previous history of crime and violence. The investigating officials are also enquiring about the relationship between the deceased victim and the accused. The dead body has been sent for post-mortem. Information has been passed on to the family members and relatives of the victim.
