Thiruvananthapuram: An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Gopakumar has been transferred to a camp in Idukki as he misbehaved with a complainant. The incident took place in Neyyar Dam police station, Thiruvananthapuram.
The video surfaced in social media platform depicting the ASI misbehaving with the man and his daughter has gone viral. Following this, the Inspector General of Police (IG) ordered the probe.
" I faced a problem yesterday and called the police. None responded and when I asked about it, the police misbehaved with me. ASI told us that the police have many other works and we will not take up our complaint," said Sudhevan the complainant.
"Even though it is termed as a people-friendly police station, their actions are contradictory. He even told me that I was under the influence of liquor and behaved very badly with my daughter," he added.
The ASI is seen shouting and behaving rudely in the video. He even stated that the complainants may seek help from other police stations.
