Kannur (Kerala): The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized gold biscuits weighing 11.2 kilograms being smuggled into Kerala from Kannur International Airport here on Monday. The officials also arrested four persons who tried to smuggle the gold.
On early Monday, these four persons landed in different flights from Sharjah and Dubai. One man from Dubai carried the gold in a microwave oven while two from Sharjah had hidden the gold in fish cutting machines. The seized gold is said to be worth more than Rs 4 core.
