Bengaluru (Karnataka): A woman was taken into custody, after she was found carrying a placard reading 'Kashmir Mukti' (Free Kashmir) in front of the Town Hall, here on Friday.
Holding the placard with slogans, she was spotted sitting among the participants of the protest organised by the Hindu Jagaran Vedike against the woman who had shouted "Pakistan Zindabad" on Thursday.
The placard had the words 'Dalit Mukti', 'Kashmir Mukti', and 'Muslim Mukti' written on it in Kannada, City police chief Bhaskar Rao said.
As the Vedike members asked her to leave, cops then came to the rescue of the woman, who was surrounded by a crowd, Rao added.
The police, meanwhile, has taken the woman into custody.
"She has been now been taken into custody for her own safety along with the placard... we will find out her background, where she has come from and who are behind her among other things," Rao told reporters, adding she did not raise any slogan.

To a question if she would be arrested, the Commissioner said let the investigation be held. "It is too early as she has just been taken into custody," he added.
Earlier yesterday, a young woman, Amulya Leona, had raised "Pakistan Zindabad" slogan thrice after the organisers of an anti-CAA event under the banner of "Save Constitution" invited her to address the gathering in the presence of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
She was immediately taken into custody and subsequently produced before a judicial magistrate and sent to 14-day custody.
A sedition case was also filed against her.
