Bengaluru (Karnataka): Karnataka's education minister Suresh Kumar on Monday lauded the efforts of a poor boy for scoring 616 marks in the SSLC exams.
Kumar visited the shack where the boy Mahesh lives in Bengaluru and promised to support his college education.
"Mahesh wants to apply for the PUC and study science. I appreciate his hard work and will arrange study material for him," said Kumar adding "It felt good seeing the happiness on faces of Mahesh's parents."
Mahesh was born in a poor family in Yadgir and moved to Bengaluru to earn and live a better life.
He worked at a construction site with his parents and used the earnings to pay for his education.
Despite the challenges faced by his family, Mahesh managed to score well in the SSLC exam.
