In the video which has now gone viral on social media, an agitated elephant can be seen storming towards a safari vehicle, reportedly belonging to the 'Jungle Lodges and Resorts'.

According to reports, the driver initially did not back off even as the elephant was moving towards the vehicle.

However, man-animal encounters are not new to the region, with many such instances being reported from Bandipur.

Earlier in June, a bus travelling from Karnataka's Chamarajanagar to Calicut in Kerala was attacked by an elephant when their bus entered the Bandipur Forest area.

Elephant attacked a Jungle Lodges and Resorts canter at Bandipur tiger reserve on Sunday.

The driver, we are told, did not back off when the agitated elephant charged the vehicle.

Most wildlife species are  stressed by these incursions into their territory.

If you give the animal space it wouldn't trouble tourists.

Vehicles tailing leopards and tigers is a nuisance in all wildlife sanctuaries and reserves.
