Mangaluru: Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Oscar Fernandes underwent a successful surgery last night at Yenapoya Hospital in Mangalore.
A blood clot in the brain of Oscar Fernandes was removed during late-night surgery performed by Dr. Divakar Rao and Dr. Sunil Shetty.
The former Union minister and veteran Congress leader received a brain injury while performing yoga on Sunday morning, after which he was admitted to the hospital.
Fernandes had been in a state of unconsciousness for the past one week and is expected to regain consciousness very soon, sources said.
