Hyderabad: As Congress closes in on touching the magic mark with trends showing a lead of 112 seats for the party which ran a spirited campaign and played all the tricks to ride the popular wave and oust the BJP from power in the run-up to the Karnataka elections, the opposition party celebrated the occasion with pop singer Sia's popular song Unstoppable on its Twitter handle on Saturday.

In July 2022, the song was issued to contemporary hit radio in the United States as an official single, after gaining success from usage as backing music on TikTok and in commercials. The lines of the song "all smiles, I know what it takes to fool this town..I'll do it 'til the sun goes down" are heard on the Twitter handle with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's public outreach photographs during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which mainly focused on the South Indian states.
During the period, the Congress laid the groundwork for the Karnataka polls at a time when the BJP was busy in underplaying the rival party's efforts. The Congress's gains in Karnataka can be a shot in the run-up to the general elections in 2024. The party, however, is treading caution and started ringfencing its MLAs as it crossed the halfway mark in leads.
The Congress is bracing up for the possibility of its numbers hovering between 110-115, triggering a race to power. Congress sources said the party plans to take its MLAs to Tamil Nadu and is in touch with the leadership of the ruling DMK. Arrangements were also being made to take elected Congress MLAs to Bengaluru by evening.
