Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir): Kashmir, known as the paradise of the earth is the dream destination of most travel buffs. Enamoured by the scenic beauty, people tend to visit the place even more than once. Mesmerising waterfalls, picturesque mountains lure nature lovers.

However, owing to the lockdown induced by Article 370 abrogation and Covid, most of the tourists spots remained closed for a long time. Sans tourists visits, the sector was also hit. In a major respite to travelholics, Mughal Garden (Botanical Garden) at Anantnag's Kokernag has been reopened. Eager to recline on the lush green beds in the garden, tourists have been flocking the spot.

The garden was closed was almost three years

One of the tourists said to ETV Bharat, " Covid impacted our lives...This year, we had little work...Lockdown had affected our employment. Now things are getting back to normal and I can assure others that there is no need to worry to come here."

Another tourist said that the government need to think about people's lives during lockdown. Our daily bread and butter get affected without employment. It is good that the garden has been opened so that our lives are revived.

Cool springs in the garden are also a major attraction for tourists. Towering trees make visitors spellbound here while vibrant flowers and plants give a visual treat. From the hustle and bustle of life, one cannot resist letting go of the relief and joy that the Mughal garden offers.
