Mangalore (Karnataka): Kambala Samithi has announced 10 groups of Kambala during this season and Asranna Krishnaprasad Acharya will inaugurate the Kambala Event on Saturday. According to the Kambala Samithi, more than 150 buffalos are participating.
Kambala events, which are normally held in the evenings, will be conducted only during the day between 7.30 am and 6 pm this year due to the Covid restrictions.
After months of uncertainty over holding the Kambala event due to the Covid pandemic this year, it was finally decided to conduct the Kambala by duly adhering to all Covid guidelines, after the District Administration approved the same.
Last year’s season began with Hokkadygoli Kambala in Bantwal taluk on November 30 and 15 Kambala events were held.
DCM Lakshman Savadi, Mangalore MP and State BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, Minister Angara, District In-charge minister Kota Shrinivasa Poojari and Many other leaders of Dakshina Kannada are likely to witness the Kambala event today.
