South-Western railway hikes platform ticket fare to Rs 50

in order to prevent crowding in railway stations, the South-Western Railway increased the fare of platform tickets from Rs 10 to 50 at 13 railway stations under it.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): South-Western Railway has increased the price of platform ticket from Rs 10 to Rs 50 at 13 stations a bid to avoid crowding in railway stations, during the season when people are expected to travel in high numbers. The railway zone will also operate special trains in the upcoming festival season.

Raised fares are effective at the railway stations in Krishnarajapuram, Bangarpet, Tumkur, Hosur, Dharmapuri, Kengeri, Mandya, Hindupur, Penukonda, Yelahanka, Banaswadi, Carmelaram and Whitefield.

The hiked fare will be effective until November 10.
