Sleaze CD Case: Karnataka HC issues notice to SIT, Jarakiholi on plea filed by victim

Karnataka High Court has issued a notice to the SIT and Ramesh Jarakiholi in the sleaze CD case following the woman's plea seeking quashing of the former minister's complaint against her.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Monday has issued an emergency notice to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and Ramesh Jarakiholi in the sleaze CD case following the victim's plea seeking quashing of former minister's complaint. The woman has appealed to the high court to cancel the probe and quash the FIR filed on the complaint of honey trap case registered by Jarakiholi on May 13 in Sadashivanagar police station.

During the hearing, she alleged that Jarakiholi is trying to frame her by making a new story that she along with others conspired, honey-trapped and extorted money from him using a sex video and filed the complaint. According to reports, the petitioner in her plea wants a change in the current SIT committee as she believes that the probing agency under the influence of the former minister and is shielding him.

The plea also demanded a court-monitored agency to investigate the case. Ramesh Jarakiholi is accused of sexual assault on the pretext of offering a job. Issuing notice to the two parties, Justice S Sunil Dutt Yadav adjourned the hearing to June 21.

On June 12, Naresh Gowda and Shravan attended an SIT probe. They are alleged to be the culprits in the CD case of former minister Ramesh Jarakiholi. An extortion and blackmail case has been registered against two men in Sadashivanagar Station and they were later given anticipatory bail by the Sessions Court. However, the court has instructed the accused to appear before the SIT within 5 days.
