Bengaluru: In another development in the sleaze CD case, former Karnataka minister Ramesh Jarakiholi called in for an SIT interrogation for the first time on Monday.
After completing a part of the interrogation, Ramesh Jarakiholi exited through the back entrance of SIT office. It is believed that the embattled BJP leader has moved to an undisclosed location and will file an anticipatory bail.
Based on a complaint filed by the woman in the centre of the controversy, Jarakiholi was issued a notice, following which he was called for interrogation by the investigation team.
"Impartially investigations are being carried out by SIT. I have made it clear to Jarakiholi let all the evidence be safe and do not destroy anything," said Ramesh Jarakiholi's advocate Shyam Sundar.
When asked about the girl directly approaching the court to record her statement, he said, "A woman can file her statement under CrPc 164, it is not void. The first statement must be presented before the Investigation officer."
Sources said the ex-minister Jarakiholi is planning to apply for anticipatory bail, as the woman is seeking to directly record statement before the judge.
