Udupi: Residents of a local village in Karnataka's Udupi district were enjoying the seasonal rains and cloud cover, when they witnessed a rare Tornado on Thursday evening.
According to reports, the tornado was around 200 metres high with a very low ground speed.
However, the increased wind speed of the tornado cause structural damage to several buildings and uprooted my trees in the region.
An entire Betel nut tree plantation was reportedly damaged in the tornado, and total estimated damage adding up to over 20 lakh.
Following the incident, officials from the local administration visited the site and estimated the damage caused.
