New Delhi: The Supreme Court dismissed a petition seeking an investigation into the death of Kannada scholar and writer MM Kalburgi.
The petition also sought a probe into an alleged conspiracy against the rationalists.
The apex court disposed of the plea by Umadevi Kalburgi, wife of MM Kalburgi after Karnataka govt said that the charge sheet has already been filed in the 2015 killing of MM Kalburgi in Dharwad.
The status report indicated two accused were absconding and the matter has now been assigned to the sessions court, the apex court said.
Initially, Karnataka SIT which investigated the Gauri Lankesh case was assigned the Kalburgi case as well.
