Karnataka: Ramesh Jarkiholi discharged from hospital

Former Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has been discharged from the hospital. He now faces an ongoing SIT investigation on sexual harassment filed by a woman in Bengaluru. The former minister in Karnataka government is still Corona positive and will stay in home quarantine.

Belgaum/Belgavi: Former Water Resources Minister in Karnataka Government, Ramesh Jarkiholi, has been discharged today from the Gokak Taluk Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for Covid-19.

Along with Corona, the BJP MLA from Gokak was also suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure. Three days ago, he was treated at the ICU ward of Gokak's government hospital. However, his diabetes and blood pressure is now stable, so he has been discharged. The former minister added, "I will be in quarantine at home. But the corona report is still not negative. However, I will follow the home quarantine and Corona guidelines."

The former minister will stay at home for a period of 12-day quarantine and will be resting for few more days even after his corona report comes out as negative. He still needs to face the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigation on sexual harassment complaint filed by a woman in Bengaluru. The ex-minister has so far failed to attend two interrogation sessions. He resigned from the ministry just before the state's budget session and has filed a formal police complaint alleging extortion, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.

In the meanwhile, Byrathi Basavaraj, the Urban Development Minister in Karnataka government, has claimed that Ramesh Jarkiholi would be campaigning for the upcoming bypolls after recovering from Covid-19.
