Mysuru: While the vaccination drive for fighting Covid-19 is going at full force, a new misdirection has begun: people are receiving messages that they have already been administered the dose but haven't in reality.

For instance, Madhusudan, a resident of Mysuru, had the shock of his life when he received a text message that his vaccination was successful even before he took it.

He had registered for the vaccination on 28 April and was given a slot to take the vaccine at a private hospital. When he reached the hospital, vaccines had gone out of stock and the staff asked him to return in the afternoon.

When he visited later in the noon, he saw a huge crowd and returned home unable to take the dose. However, he received a message which said his vaccination was successful.

Perplexed, he approached the hospital demanding an explanation, but the authorities said he received the message because he was vaccinated. Madhusudan accused the hospital of malpractice stating it was a case of cheating.
