Mangaluru police issues notices to Kerala-Karnataka border residents in Dec 19 violence

In connection with the incidents of violence which happened during Anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protest on December 19 in Mangaluru, the police have served notices to hundreds of people including students, workers and women living near the Karnataka - Kerala border.

Mangaluru: Mangaluru police have issued notice to hundreds of people including students, workers and women living near the Karnataka- Kerala border who are allegedly involved in Anti-CAA protest which took place on Dec 19.

The notices say that the police have information that on December 19, the recipients of the notice had illegally come together in the city and had taken part in disturbances here.

Section 144 was in force when the protest was held.

According to the Indian Penal Code, Section 143 (Unlawful Mobilization), 147 (Riot), 148 (illicit weapon possession), 188 (violation of prohibition), 353 (assault), 332 (obstruction of duty), 324 (violence), 427 (damage to public property), 307 ( try to murder), 120 b (conspiracy) mentioned in the notice.

Mangalore: Mangalore police have issued a notice to several students,workers and womens of Kerala and Karnataka borders,Kasaragodu and others Village people. who are alleged to have been involved in violence in the Mangalore on the Dce.19th.



The people from Kerala and Karnataka border areas came to Mangalore. Nearly 650 people have been issued notices. According to the Indian Penal Code, Section 143 (Unlawful Mobilization), 147 (Riot), 148 (illicit weapon possession), 188 (violation of prohibition), 353 (assault), 332 (obstruction of duty), 324 (violence), 427 (damage to public property), 307 ( try to murder), 120 b (conspiracy) these cases are mentioned in the notice. 



This notice has been issued through SpeedPost. On the Dce.19th Illegally participate in a protest at Mangalore. We have also received information about the riots was mentioned in notice.In this backdrop, the police have issued a notice to attend the hearing at the Bandar station in Mangalore.
