K'taka: Man beaten for communal remark

Three people have been taken into custody for allegedly assaulting a man at a mall in Mangalore. A video of the incident has gone viral in which the person's communal statements were recorded.

Mangalore: A group of people on Wednesday assaulted a man here who allegedly made a communal remark.

The incident took place at a mall in Mangalore on Wednesday afternoon and three persons have been taken into custody.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media in which the person has made a provocative statement.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered. Two people and a juvenile have been arrested over the incident. Police informed that juvenile will be dealt with as per the provisions in the juvenile justice laws.

"We will investigate the matter. We have good leads," said Mangaluru Police Commissioner while speaking to media on Thursday.
