Andhra Pradesh: In a bid to clean up the canals of Krishna River in Andhra Pradesh, the state government has launched the 'Mana Krishna' mission.
The 400 crore clean up drive is an extension of 'Neenu Saitam Krishnamma Suddhi Sevalo’ and 'Mana Vijayawada' mission which were launched in 2019.
Through the 'Mana Krishna' mission, the municipal corporation will aim at making the canals of Krishna River, which is the fourth-biggest river in terms of water inflows, plastic-free.
Emphasising on the importance of the programme Krishna District Collector Imtiaz called for public participation for ensuring successful implementation of the programme.

The previous programmes - 'Neenu Saitam Krishnamma Suddhi Sevalo’was immensely successful in making the Krishna river plastic-free, while 'Mana Vijayawada' helped the city of Vijayawada to get rid of its plastic waste.
