Karnataka’s HD Kumaraswamy-led Janata Dal Secular-Congress coalition government will face its trust vote on July 18, it was decided at a meeting of the assembly’s business advisory panel. 

Chief Minister Kumaraswamy had offered to face the confidence vote last week after nearly 16 coalition lawmakers sent their resignations to Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar, threatening to reduce the coalition government to a minority.

Bengaluru: The political drama in Karnataka on Monday shifted to state assembly. The Speaker is scheduled to convene the BAC meeting before the session resumes in the afternoon and a date for the trust vote to be fixed. 

According to reports, the trust vote will be only held on Wednesday or Thursday as the speaker can hold floor test after Supeme Court's verdict on rebel MLAs.
