Bengaluru: Karnataka may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in various parts of the state for the next 5 days, said Indian Metrological Department.
A red alert has also been sounded for coastal districts of the state which include Udupi Karwar, Uttar Kannada and also adjoining areas of Shimogga, Chikmagalur and Malnad districts. It is expected that rainfall may decrease after three days but coastal areas will still witness rainfall after August 9 as well, said C S Patil, IMD Scientist.
Depression over the Bay of Bengal one of the reasons for the expected rains in the state.
